A man was injured Friday when he was hit by an Amtrak train at around 8:30 a.m. The accident occurred near West Palm Street by Pacific Coast Highway. Deputy Jason Burk states that the victim did not move out of the way of the train, which was reported to be going 45 miles per hour, even after the train sounded the alarm and activated the warning lights. The victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center with injuries that were undisclosed.
The accident caused delays for up to about an hour.
